HISTORY OF INDIAN PENTECOSTAL CHURCH OF GOD

ORGIN:

The Apostle P. M.Samuel who is the resident of Kerala had got settled in Andhra Pradesh choosing Vijayawada as the centre for establishing Indian Pentecostal Church of God Ministry.

He had got a spiritual vision of preaching Gospel near the Sea Shore. In the same time the person called Issac Nathan resident of West Godavari who was doing his Ministry in Masakapalli also got the same vision of preaching Gospel near the Sea Shore, and also heard his calling clearly from the Lord.

In that Situation he came out with empty hands in 1958 and started praying near the Sea Shore where he met Bro. Athreya Rao who took him to the meetings which was held at Pentaveedhi (Anthony Nagar).

In that Meeting he had given an opportunity to share the word of God in a short time he shared the Word of God and transformed many lives who shed their tears weeping and asking for repentance to the Lord. In that ground we have Gurumurthi Garu. Martin Garu, Chinna janakamma Garu etc,.

IN THE EARLY DAYS:

He had been taken to the hill fellowship by the SEVEN BROTHERS and there the ministry spread all over the area where the Holy Spirit moved like a fire, resulting the signs and wonders in that place . They have been facing difficult problems from various communities like braking the Drums and Lights. Throwing stones and even they drew him to the police station. At that time Jangalayya, Simhadri, Pentayya, Gavarayya, M.S. Paul, Peda Janakamma, Joseph, Mark etc,. had been saved.

CHURCH BUILDING IN EARLY DAYS:

In the early days the worship used to take place in veternary Hospital for the growth and development of the church. Apostle PM Samuel has supported financially to purchase a land for the construction of the church and also gold, amount etc., was donated by the believers which led to the establishment of church in 1962.

PASTORS:

After Nathan left this Ministry Pastor KC. Mathew Apostle PM Samuel were taken this opportunity immediately without any delay. Though he is from Kerala he learnt Telugu and continued his long run ministry till 1982, and he had also build parsonage in his time. After this pastor Sudharshan garu took the responsibilities of continuing the Ministry till 1985 and after him the Pastor Kurpa Rakshana Garu continued this ministry till the end of his life i.e., (1985 – 1986) after that from 1996 to 1997 pastor Sudarshan Garu and in 1997 pastor martin Garu did his ministry for 3Months after that pastor R. Joseph and Pastor Krupavaram had continued this ministry. Now at present the preacher Rev. Rakshanananda Kumar Garu continuing this Ministry.

SECRETARIES:

In the beginning Bro. M.S. Paul had worked as Secretary and Treasurer for approximately more than 10 years. Then Bro. S.John Garu also played a important role for the improvement of the ministry and also worked for about 12 years in the ministry. Bro. Joseph also worked more than 10yrs and had taken the responsibilities Bro. D.V. Rao for some time; Bro. John Prakash for sometime and Bro Vijaya Sekhar garu for sometime had taken the responsibilities of this ministry. Now at present Bro. Ch. George Garu is leading the Church.

TREASURER SHIP:

For more than 10 years bro. P. Phillip had taken the responsibility of treasurer and then Bro. Simon Manohar, Bro. Vijaya Shekar, Bro. David Raju, Bro. Chiranjeevi had taken the responsibilities for that we are praising God. Now at present one of the Former believers Bro. David Raju has taken this responsibility of treasurer ship.

BRANCHES:

In the early days at the time of Nathan, ministry has grown in different places like Gopalapatnam, Pendurth, Malkapuram, Madhurawada, Bhogapuram, Vijayanagaram. Many people like Bro. Gabriel, Bro. Martin Luther, Bro. David etc,. left their Government Jobs and dedicated themselves as a God’s servant. Branch churches are established at Chnagadili, Megadripeta, etc.,

ELDERS:

The elders who are leading the church are Bro. Luke, Bro. B.Gabriel, Bro. Yohan, Bro Abraham, Bro Swamiji, Bro. Vijay Bhushan, Bro. Solmon Raju, Bro. Sugunaratnam, Bro. Prasanna Kumar, Bro. Philomon, Bro. James they had done good things for the Ministry as elders.

DESCRIPTION:

In the beginning this ministry started with 48 believers where now it reached to 500-600 believers s(eliminating the semi faith believers and the believers who are going to outstations). In the past the monthly income of this ministry was even less than Rs. 100. Now it reached (increased) to Rs. 45000-50000per month. All glory to God. The reason behind this is the believers giving their tieths regularly. The ministry also participated in same social activities like distributing sarees to widows, Jail Ministry, providing Fianancial help to small churches, other Gospel Teams and also for poor students, they are also providing Medical help to poor people and poor Pastors and also bearing burial expenses for poor believers, all these activities are done without any foreign help from other countries.

FUTURE:

We Can see this Ministry as one of the main ministries in Greater Visakhapatnam which is located near the national high way for about 30years providing help to several christian missionaries in difficult tasks.

ఇండియన్ పెంతెకోస్తు చర్చి, విశాఖ సంఘ 50సం||ల సుధీర్గ సంక్షిప్త చరిత్ర

నాంది:కేరళ వాస్తవ్యులు ఆపో.పి.ఎమ్.సామ్యూల్ గారు ఆంధ్ర ప్రాంతంలో విజయవాడను కేంద్రముగా చేసుకోని ఐ.పి.సి. సంస్థను స్థాపించిరి.వీరికి దైవదర్శనమందు ” సముద్ర తీరమున సేవ ప్రారంభించుచున్నట్లు” కనబడెను. ఆ సమయములందే పశ్చిమ గొదావరిలో మసకపల్లిలో సేవచేయుచున్న ఐజక్ నాతన్ గారికి కూడా దర్శనమందు “సముద్ర తీరమున ఆయన సేవచేయుచున్నట్లు” కనబడెను. మరియు స్పష్టమైన పిలుపుకూడ వినిరి. ఆ విధముగా 1958 లొకట్టుబట్టలతో సముద్రతీరమునకు వచీ ప్రార్దీంచు చుంఢఃగా బ్రదర్ ఆత్రేయరావు గారి పరిచయముతొ పెంటవీదిలో జరుగుచున్న కూటమునకు తీసుకొనిరాబడిరి. తనకు ఇవ్వబడిన కొంచెము సమయములొనే వాక్యపరిచర్యద్వారా అక్కడి వారు కన్నీరు కార్చి, పశ్ఛాతాపం పొంది, మారుమనస్సు పొందీరి.వారిలొ గురుమూర్తి గారు, మార్టిన్ గారు, చిన్నజనకమ్మగారు, మొదలగువారు కలరు.

ప్రారంభ దినాలు:Seven బ్రదర్స్ ద్వారా కొంఢమీద జరుగుచున్న సహవాసమునకు పరిచయుస్తులై వీరి సేవ వాడవాడల విస్తరించుండెను. పరిశుద్ధాత్మ అగ్నివలేవచ్చుటయును, అద్బుతములు మరియు సూచక క్రియలును జరుగుచుండెను. వ్యతిరేక వర్గాలవలన ఇబ్బందులు కల్గుచుండెడివి. లైట్లు, డ్రమ్ములు పగలగొట్టుట, రాళ్లతో కొట్టుట చివరకు పోలీసు స్టేషనుకు వెళ్లుట జరుగుచుండెను.అట్టి పరిష్థితిలొ జంగాలయ్యగారు, సింహాద్రిగారు, పెంటయ్యగారు, గవరయ్యగారు, M.S పాల్ గారు, పెద్ధ జానకమ్మగారు, జొషఫ్ గారు, మార్కుగారు రక్షింపబడిన వరిలో ముఖ్యులు.సంఘ భవనము: తాత్కాలికంగా ఆరాదన పశువుల ఆసుపత్రి స్ఠలములలో జరుగు చుండెను. సంఘ విస్తరణ బట్టి అపో. పి ఎమ్. సామ్యూల్ గారి ఆర్దిక సహాయంతో సంఘమునకు ఒక స్థలము కొనబడెను. మరియు విస్వాసుల బంగారము, ధనములను కూడా సమకూర్చి ఆలయమును 1962లోకట్టిరి.

కాపరులు: నాతన్ గారు విడిచి పెట్టిన సేవను దైవజనులు కె. సి మాత్యూస్ గారు అపో. పి ఎమ్ సామ్యూల్ గారి తక్షణ ప్రతిస్పందన మేరకు చేపట్టిరి. కేరళ వాస్తవ్యులైనప్పటికి తెలుగు భాష నేర్చుకొని 1982వరకు సుదీర్ఘ సేవలు చేసిరి. వారి సమయములోనే Personage కట్టబడెను. వీరి తరువాత పాస్టర్ సుదర్సనంగారు భాధ్యతలను చేపట్టి 1985వరకు కొనసాగించిరి. పిదప ప్రార్దన పరులైన పాస్టర్ కృపా రక్షణ గారు 1985–1996 వరకు తన మరణ పర్యంతం సేవను కొనసాగించిరి. తిరిగి 96నుండి97వరకు పాస్టర్ సుదర్శనంగారు మరియు పాస్టర్ మార్టిన్ గారు 97లో 3 నెలలు ఈ సేవను కొనసాగించారు. తరువాత కాలంలో పాస్టర్ ఆర్. జోషప్, పాస్టర్ కృపావరం సేవకులు సంఘమును నడిపించిరి. ప్రస్థుతము వాక్యబోదనలో నిస్ణాతులైన రెవ. రక్షణాండము ఆధ్వర్యములో సంఘం నడుచుట గమనించగలము.

సెక్రటరిషిప్:ప్రధమంలో బ్రదర్ ఎమ్. ఎస్. పాల్ గారు సెక్రటరి కమ్ ట్రెజర్ గా సుమారు దశాబ్డమునకు పైగా పనిచేయగా బ్రదర్ ఎస్. జాన్ గారు కూడా సుమారు12సం” ఆ సంఘమును ముందుకు నడిపించుటలోప్రముఖ పాత్ర పోషించిరి. బ్రదర్. జోషప్ గారు కూడా ధసాబ్దమునకు పైగా భాద్యతలను నిర్వహించిరి. బ్రదర్ డి.వి రావు గారు కొంత కాలము, బ్రదర్ జాన్ ప్రకాష్ కొంత కాలము బ్రదర్ విజయశేఖర్ గారు కొంత కాలము సంఘమును ముందుకు నడిపించిరి. ప్రస్తుతము బ్రదర్ సి హెచ్. జార్జిగారి ఆద్వర్యంలో సంఘము నడిపించబడుట మనకు కనబడుచున్నది.

ట్రజరర్ షిప్:ధశాబ్దమునకు పైగా బ్రదర్ ఫిలిప్ గారు కోశాదికారిగా తమ విధులు నమ్మకముగా నిర్వహించిరి. ఆ తరువాత బ్రదర్ సైమన్ మనోహార్, బ్రదర్ విజయ శేఖర్, బ్రదర్ జార్జ్, బ్రదర్ డేవిడ్ రాజు, బ్రదర్ చిరంజీవి అనువారు, ఈ బాధ్యతలను, నిర్వర్తించుటబట్టి దేవునికి సోత్రము, కురు వృద్దులు తొలి విశ్వాసులలో ఒకరైన బ్రదర్ డేవిడ్ రాజు ఈ బాద్యతలను ప్రస్తుతం నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు.

శాఖోపశాఖలు : ఆరంభములోనే నాతన్ గారి సమయంలో,గోపాలపట్నం, పెందుర్తి, మల్కాపురం, మదురవాడ భోగాపురం, విజయనగరం మొదలగు ప్రాంతాలలో సేవావిస్తరణ జరిగెను.అప్పటి సభ్యులు బ్రదెర్ గాభ్రియేలు, బ్రదెర్ మార్టిన్ లూదర్, బ్రదెర్ డేవిడ్ మొదలగువారు తమ ప్రభుత్వ ఉద్యోగములకు రాజినామా ఇచ్చి సేవకులుగా సమర్పించుకొనుట దేవుని మహిమ. చిన్నగదిలి, మేగాద్రిపేట, ప్రాంతంలో బ్రాంచి సంఘములు ఏర్పాటు చేయుట జరిగెను. ఈ పనిలో బ్రదర్ సాగర్ గారు ముఖ్యులు.

పెద్దలు:పెద్దలుగా తమ బాద్యతలను నెరవేర్చుటలో, బ్రదర్ లూక, బ్రదర్ బి. గాబ్రియేలు, బ్రదర్ యోహాను బ్రదర్ అబ్రహాము బ్రదర్ స్వామూజి, బ్రదర్ వినయ్ భూషణ్, బ్రదర్ సాల్మన రాజ్, బ్రదర్ సుగుణరత్నం, బ్రదర్ ప్రసన్నకుమార్ బ్రదర్ ఫిలొమాన్, బ్రదర్ జేమ్స్ మొదలగు వారి సేవలను మరువలేము. ప్రస్తుతము బ్రదర్ రాబర్ట్స్, బ్రదర్ జీవరత్నం, బ్రతర్ బి కుమార్, బ్రతర్ ప్రదీప్, బ్రదర్ దాస్ అనువారు నేటి పెద్దలుగా సేవచేయుచున్నారు.

కార్యక్రమములు:విశాఖ ప్రాంతమునకు కన్వేన్ షన్ జరిపించుటలో మొదటి ఘనత మన సంఘానికి చెందినది. యూత్ రిట్రీట్, ఉమన్స్ రిట్రీట్, సన్డేస్కూలు, రాలి, గోస్పాల్ కేంప్ మొదలగు బృహుత్తర కార్యక్రమములతో పాటు దైవజనుల నివాస వసతిని పక్కా భవనముగా మార్చుట, దానిపై మరొక అంతస్తు వేయుట,Church బిల్డింగ్Extension, భాల్కానీ వంటి నిర్మాణ కార్యక్రమములు కూడా జరిగెను. సమర్దవంతమైన వ్యవస్త(Committee) కల్గివున్న ఈ సంఘముAccountsను పక్కాగా నిర్వహించుచున్నది. సంఘ విస్వాసులు దూర ప్రాంతం నుండి వచ్చుటకు, వివిధప్రాంతములకు సేవ పరిచర్య నిమిత్తమై ఒక సొంత Mini bus, ఒక సొంత Autoకూడా కలిగివున్నది.

విశ్లేషణ: 48విస్వాసులతో మొదలిడిన ఈ సంఘము నేడు సుమారు 500-600 సభ్యులను (మద్యలో ప్రభువు నందు నిద్రించువారు ఇతర ప్రాంతములకు వెళ్లినవారు కాక) కలిగి వుండుట గమనించగలము. ఆర్దిక పరంగా సుమారు 100 రూ|| కంటె నెల ఆదాయము తక్కువ వచ్చిన ఆరంభ స్థితి నుండి ప్రస్తుతం 45000-50000రూపాయలు మధ్య నెల ఆదాయము వచ్చుట దేవునికే మహిమ. ఇందుకు కారణము సభ్యులు దశమభాగమును క్రమముగా ఇచ్చుట. ప్రతీ ఏటా విధవరాండ్రలకు చీరలుపంపిణీ జైలు పరిచర్య , చిన్న సంఘముల నిర్మాణములకై ఆర్ధిక సహాయము, ఇతర సువార్త గుంపులకు సహాయము జరిగించుట మరువలేనిది. ఏ విదేశి సహాయము, ఇంతవరకులేకుండా కొనసాగుతున్న ఈ సంఘము , సంఘ బీద విద్యార్దులకు ఆర్దిక సహాయము, బీద విస్వాసులకు మరియు సంఘకాపరికి మెడికల్ హెల్ప్, బీద విస్వాసులు మరణించిన సమయంలో సమాధి ఖర్చులు చెల్లించుట మొదలగునవి జరుగుచున్నవి.

భవిష్యత్: సుమారు 30 సం లు ఏరియా సంఘముగా ఉన్న ఈ సంఘము నేడు గ్రేటర్ విశాఖలో ప్రధాన రహదారిలో ప్రదాన సంఘములలో ఒకటిగా ఉంటూ విశాఖ క్రైస్తవ సమాజమునకు వివిధవ్ విషయములలో సహకరించుట గమనించగలము. అట్టి ఈ సంఘము భవిష్యత్తులో కూఢా కర్తవ్యములతోపాటు, మే కన్నుల ముందు గోల్డేన్ జూబ్లి సెలబ్రేషన్ జరిగించుకొనుటకు అందులో ప్రధమ భాగముగా50 సం ల పాత భవన మందిరమును సుమారు 50 లక్షల ఖర్చుతో పునఃనిర్మించుటకు ముందుకు వెలుచున్నదని చెప్పుచూ దేవుని మహిమ పర్చుచున్నాము. మరియు ఈ వధువు సంఘము మరిన్ని ఆత్మీయ వరములతో,ఫలములతో మన ప్రభుని రాకడకు సిద్దపడవలెనని దేవుని ప్రార్దిస్తూ మీ వద్ద సెలవు తీసుకుంటున్న మీ సహ విశ్వాసి.
